Available Positions

1. Office Secretary II – 5 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Prepare and type official letters, reports, and confidential documents.
  • Welcome visitors and direct them to the appropriate offices.
  • Maintain records of appointments, meetings, official events, and work schedules.
  • Retrieve and organize files needed for daily office operations.
  • Receive and distribute files and documents to relevant departments.
  • Keep office records and files properly arranged and updated.
  • Assist in preparing meeting agendas, minutes, and related documents.
  • Monitor office stationery requirements and request supplies when necessary.
  • Perform other official duties assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • Certificate of Secondary Education (Form Four) or Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (Form Six).
  • Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution.
  • Typing speed of at least 80 words per minute in both English and Kiswahili.
  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Email, and Internet usage.

Salary Scale: TGS C


2. Driver II – 4 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

The appointed drivers will be responsible for:

  • Conducting routine vehicle inspections before and after official trips.
  • Driving council staff safely during official assignments.
  • Performing basic vehicle maintenance and reporting mechanical faults.
  • Recording journey details in the vehicle logbook.
  • Delivering and collecting official documents when assigned.
  • Ensuring the assigned vehicle remains clean and in good operating condition.

Qualifications

Candidates must have:

  • Certificate of Secondary Education (Form Four).
  • Valid Class C or Class E driving licence.
  • At least one year of safe driving experience without causing road accidents.
  • Basic Driving Course Certificate from VETA or another government-recognized training institution.
  • Supporting certificates for the relevant driving licence category.

Salary Scale: TGS B


General Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania.
  • Be no older than 45 years at the time of application.
